College Football

They wont have to worry about that since glennon came from the same town as 2 people who got shot and the shooter. I had to hear that 200 times yesterday in the game

I think now that the memorials have been had on opening day the 4/16 shooting talk will die down. This was just the first gameday opportunity to remember those lost and hopefully it will now be allowed for normalcy to return. Sure, we all have lost those we love, but the magnitude of this tragedy is what has it in everyone's minds helped along by all the media hype, and I don't think many of us can say we lost a loved one in a manner such as this. The players themselves said that they had been questioned much more about 4/16 than football itself and you know it's had to weigh heavy on them reminded day after day.

im not using any of that as an excuse for the fact that tech's offensive line sucks ass and therefore, so does the qb at the moment.. i mean ore can't run if nothing's there.. and glennon sure as heck cant sit back and scan the field if he doesnt have time..

just was pointing out facts about the mood for that 1st outing and yes, what happened had a lot to do with everything on saturday

nevertheless, saturday has come and gone, so everyone who is tired of hearing about it probably won't have too that much anymore.. but if hearing about it bothers you that bad, then quit reading the newspaper and turn off your damn television sets...

if the hokie birds don't show up this sat., they will get stomped.
that is a fact that has absolutely everything to do with FOOTBALL and nothing else.

What if Tech wasn't a "football school" and was more of a "basketball school" like Duke, do you think they would have done all of this in December for the start of basketball season?/

Sure do. I think the school would have had some way to pay tribute. What if it happened at FSU? Would you feel it appropriate then? 32 FSU students and faculty killed by a nut who killed himself?

basically what it boils down to is it could have happened anywhere, and would be dealt with in the exact same manner anywhere else...

the conflict here is that a lot of ppl are tired of hearing about it because it involves va tech, which they have a strong distaste for.. trust me dude, even though i went to tech, anyone who knows me knows that i'm a huge seminole fan.. have been since casey weldon was the qb there.. and that was before charlie ward, so no one can say i jumped on any bandwagon there.. and i would feel bad for them too if it happened there.. it would be different in a sense because i didn't go to school there.. however, i still would have been glued to the tv and newspapers because i would have cared.. makes no diff. where it happened.. it's just that some ppl dont like hearing about the hokies EVER so they in turn get angry about what happened cuz it takes the spotlight off of "THEIR TEAM"

va tech didnt ask some piece of [censored] to come run rampant on campus so that they would get all the attention

I think ESPN and College Game Day could shoulder some of the blame. It makes for exciting television for some people to have this sad event covered from every angle. Anything for ratings so I turned it to another station.
